One of my favorite trips ever was a road trip from Las Vegas, NV to San Francisco, CA. It was my second time visiting the USA. Driving through Death Valley in a Dodge Challenger brought back childhood memories of watching the iconic American road movies of the early 1970s.
I still struggle putting my feelings about this place into words. It’s overwhelming when you see it for the first time. The sheer size of it, the smell and how quiet it is in the desert. I loved the wide open space where you could see for miles, how the light and colors of the landscape changed over the day, and watching the long shadows rolling over the plains at dusk. Everything seemed so cinematic to me.
