I keep the Trip with me all the time in case I see a shot that needs a quick point and shoot. This shot was just such that occasion.
It was the windiest Christmas day morning I could remember and the sea mist was blowing on shore. That meant that ever time I lifted and pointed the camera the lens would be at the mercy of the weather and mist up.
I had no idea why there was so many seagulls crowding the beach that day but given the wind and the mist I thought it was worthy of a shot.
I later found out that the reason why the gulls were so plentiful was the fact that a local trawler had snagged its nets off shore and lost its catch of herrings which continued to roll on shore.
What I love about a £10 camera and a £1 film is, you can still get a pretty decent shot without the need for high end kit.
