This image was taken at Cruising Grand, a weekly classic car event that takes place every Friday night from March through late September in Escondido, California.
I take my camera there every Friday to capture the cars and, more importantly, the people that are part of this culture. There is such a diverse community that gathers around this event every week with a common bond in the classic cars they own and proudly share.
There are moments on the street where the scene just screams for your camera to take the shot. This was one of those moments for me. As I was walking past the old Packards I saw this scene and couldn't believe how fortunate I was to see this.
I didn't want to show anything more than what you can see here, to project the mystery of who this lady was and why she was waiting. She never saw me take this photograph and I never saw any more of her than what you can see here. This perspective was perfect for me. You stop while you're ahead.
