There always seems to be a steady stream of people who visit Dallas, Texas and make their way to Dealey Plaza. There's also no shortage of vendors selling tours, photos and other memorabilia pertaining to the JFK assassination.
When I noticed this gentleman I asked him if he would hold his newspaper up for me. I shot the photo wide open and only took one exposure. The end result came back so crisp and so strikingly clear. It was as if seeing the news for the first time. Behind this gentleman was the building where the deadly shots were fired. Just to our left and out of frame is where John F. Kennedy was shot.
Even now I look at this photo and it makes me pause. It jumps out at me and grabs me as if to say, "Don't forget this happened here."
