Dakota and I had been talking for months about an in-home documentary shoot with her and her littles. The timing never lined up during the spring or summer; life gets busy during those times of the year.
November 16th, I had quite a bit of time to myself, so 2 days prior to me shooting them, I messaged her on Facebook and asked if she was up for an in home shoot on the 16th. I'm so glad she said yes. This was my first all film in home documentary shoot. All of my other shoots had been hybrid, but now I only shoot with my Elan 7e.
This photo is one of my favorites from her shoot; I have many favorites but there is just something about this on in particular. Maybe it's the way her littlest is looking up at her, maybe it's because I know the story behind this exact photo. I want more people to want in-home documentary shoots because it captures the moment you are in; it's laid back, no stress. It creates beautiful images that your child/children can look back on when they are older.
