This is the image that got me hooked on film. I remember looking over my shoulder and seeing the composition. I remember stopping down, and I remember popping in the scans CD and seeing this frame. I'd been shooting film sporadically for a couple years, after this roll my film consumption really took off.
During the fall of 2013, when I took this, my girlfriend at the time and I would take aimless walks around Montreal, simply to spend more time together. This frame is from one of those walks. It was a heady time, graduation was approaching, I was more than a little freaked out, and this bleak fall day in early November fit our mood.
The lookout in the right side of the frame (officially a belvedere) offers great views of downtown Montreal. What can be seen of the city in this image is west of the city center. One of my favorite parts of this image how the city dissolves into the foggy drizzle, yet you can still see the St. Laurent river, a bright band running though the center of the frame.
